Located in Chicago, Vexellware is an indie game studio with…well, epic ambitions!
From cardboard to consoles, creating games has been a part of our DNA and life-long passion. While we may be the newest kid on the block, our team has serious chops and an ambitious drive to match when it comes to creating exceptional entertainment.
Hello There! :-)
Mission Statement
At Vexellware, we promise to make games that are not just excellent, but very excellent or as we like to say, Vexcellent.
There are four core values for how we develop our games, just like the four directions on a D-pad.
Tap the Heart
Whether you are smiling with glee or getting goosebumps as you play, we want to tap into the wealth of human emotions a player can have. No matter how big or small, we’ll deliver the thrills while you enjoy the ride!
Make You the Star
Roleplaying is a natural part of games, because when you feel like a star that’s when the magic happens! Our goal is to weave together the right story, characters, and gameplay so you can take center stage and step into the spotlight.
Drip with Style
Like fashion, games need to dress the part too! By tailoring a handsome and evocative art style, our games will have a distinct attitude that not only compliments gameplay, but makes an enticing wrapper.
Cook Up the Fun
Crafting the perfect game is a challenge! But while most games follow a basic recipe, we intend on shaking things up by bending or breaking the rules! Our goal is to discover that ‘secret sauce’ and then serve up the fun.
But also like a controller, we have two bumper buttons to keep us on the right ethical path and bump us back on track if we go astray.
Games Are Art
Our philosophy is to make cool games and give you the chance to play - not chase the pot of gold. Games are art, and they shouldn’t be cluttered with money‑making schemes. Their value should shine through in every screenshot, trailer, or demo, and be worth the money you spend - no strings attached!
Human-Centric
With AI adoption growing at a rapid pace it’s more important to take a stance as a new studio. Use of AI will always be limited, never overshadowing creators and a human-centered design. Humans belong in the driver’s seat, not a bot.
